THE TELL TALE HEART Air date: October 1997 28 min. Okay, another remake of the Eager Allen Poe classic story. But this one wasn't even produced or directed by me. At the time we were going into our third season and I was very busy in the new year which happened to be my senior one of college. I was working on tons of projects from my film class and many others but I still wanted to do another season of Creeping Death. So, a senior from the year before, Jennifer Corft gave me permission to show her short film as a Creeping Death episode. This won was shot on 16mm film and was directed by Corft and produced by Mike Tinker. But I still had time to shoot an open and close for the show. This one had a big dramatic opening where I was inspired by WWF promos at the time. We have different clips of The Red Freak in slow-mo and B&W with some dramatic music playing. It also showed the Freak not with all the make-up but just as himself, which was just really me who was Vinnie LaRusso (what The Freak was before he became the undead Red Freak). There was also a little storyline going on between the Freak and another one of his side kicks from the LIVE show, D.O.A. played by Matt Wolin. In the opening the brand new Madame Eve, Elizabeth "ELi" Leaberry introduces herself and starts the show then tosses to D.O.A. who says he's taking over the show and The Red Freak is no more. But to his surpise The Freak returns as Vinnie LaRusso and beats the hell out of D.O.A., giving him a Stone Cold Stunner and sticking his head in the toilet. (Again, I got lot of my ideas from wrestling for this episode.) I turn back into The Red Freak, return to Madame Eve and cut a promo that would make Mick Foley proud. After that we start the show. I don't mean to take away from the episode by writing a lot on the opening, but that's what really sticks out about this season premiere. The story is the same classic tale but in modern times. It's a very well done film with a great cast. It features friennd Andrew Ross who plays a pollice officer. Andrew directed an ICON short film The Trust in 1997. (When ICON wasn't ICON yet) I remembered Andrew wannted it to be a Creeping Death episode but by the time it was done the show was over. The film also atarred Andrew and mysfelf and ICON member and Creeping Death player Luis Matos. The episode also includes rare interviews with The Red Freak and commercials.
